Regular Season Round 5: Art.Dragons - Trier 87-88

Important game to mention about took place in Quakenbrueck. Second ranked Gladiators (5-1) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Artland Dragons (3-3) 88-87 on Saturday evening. Gladiators players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Forward Till Gloger (204-93, college: Maine) saved the victory by scoring 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). American guard Kelvin Lewis (195-88, college: Houston) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Gladiators players scored in double figures. Gladiators' coach Christian Held allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Forward Paul Albrecht (205-93) answered with 25 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) added 17 points and 6 assists in the effort for Artland Dragons. Gladiators maintains second place with 5-1 record behind leader Chemnitz. Artland Dragons lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Gladiators will play against Phoenix Hagen (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Artland Dragons will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#10) and hope to get back on the winning track.
