Regular Season Round 3: Targu Jiu - A.Vlaicu Buc. 82-62

Everything went according to plan in Rovinari where Targu Jiu (3-0) outscored Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti (0-3) 82-62 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Targu Jiu. Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti was better in fourth quarter 21-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti 52-30 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American center Kevin Allen (211, college: Emporia St., agency: Haylett Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Shawntez Patterson (201-90, college: Alabama St.) helped adding 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Patterson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Targu Jiu players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Theordor Duca with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Cosmin Mingote scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Targu Jiu will face Univ.Cluj (#10) in Cluj Napoca in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Aurel Vlaicu Bucuresti will play at home against Miercurea Ciuc and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
