Sixteenth-ranked Lions (1-5) made lots of trouble for leader Chemnitz (6-0) on Saturday. Chemnitz managed to secure only three-point victory 79-76. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was American forward Kavin Gilder-Tilbury (201-94, college: Texas St.) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Malte Ziegenhagen (195-91, college: Keiser) chipped in 14 points. American guard Davonte Lacy (193-93, college: Washington St.) produced 16 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Orlando Parker (203-91, college: Wagner) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Lions players scored in double figures. Chemnitz have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Lions at the other side stay at the bottom position with five games lost. They share it with Hanau. Chemnitz are looking forward to face Rostock (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lions will play against Kirchheim Knights (#11) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
