Regular Season Round 5: Uni Baskets - Walter Tigers 81-76

Everything could happen in Paderborn at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Uni Baskets and 12th ranked Walter Tigers had identical 2-3 record. This time Uni Baskets used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Tuebingen 81-76. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Uni Baskets made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Uni Baskets outrebounded Walter Tigers 37-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American point guard Tyler Laser (185-88, college: E.Illinois) came up with 18 points and 6 assists and Bosnian forward Bozo Djurasovic (201-87) added 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for Walter Tigers in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Uni Baskets. Despite that victory Uni Baskets went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with 3 other teams. Walter Tigers at the other side keep the twelfth place with four games lost. Uni Baskets' next round opponent will be higher ranked Hamburg (#3) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Walter Tigers will play against Baunach (#9) and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the BBL just one year after relegation.
