Regular Season Round 6: Wolmirstedt - Bergedorf 84-73

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Wolmirstedt (6-1) won against at home 6th ranked Bergedorf (3-3) 84-73 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was forward Julius Stahl (195-95) who scored 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Philipp Lieser (194-89, college: Cent.Washington) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Markus Timm (204-88) who recorded 22 points and 6 rebounds and guard Steffen Kiese (190-87) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Wolmirstedt have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Wolmirstedt maintains first position in North with 6-1 record. Bergedorf at the other side dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Wolmirstedt will face Stade (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Bergedorf will play against Cuxhaven and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
