A very close game took place in Kirchheim between Rostock and Kirchheim Knights. Sixth ranked Rostock (3-3) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked Kirchheim Knights (2-3). Rostock managed to escape with a 1-point win 69-68 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. American guard Terrell Harris (191-93, college: Georgia Coll., agency: Players Group) stepped up and scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Darian Cardenas (198-95) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Rohndell Goodwin (195-91, college: Chaminade) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Keith Rendleman (203-90, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: HMS) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Rostock maintains sixth place with 3-3 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Kirchheim Knights dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with Heidelberg. Rostock will meet at home league's leader Chemnitz in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kirchheim Knights will play against Lions (#16) in Karlsruhe and hope to secure a win.
