Regular Season Round 5: Ehingen - Heidelberg 92-79

There was a minor upset in Allmendingen where 13th ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (2-3) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (2-4) 92-79. Ehingen/Urspringschule shot 67.3 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Ehingen/Urspringschule especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 78.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by MLP Academics Heidelberg's players. Power forward Kevin Yebo (202-96) nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side and guard Tim Hasbargen (193-96, college: Babson) accounted for 19 points and 8 assists. Center Phillipp Heyden (206-88) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Niklas Wuerzner (196-94) added 11 points and 8 assists respectively for MLP Academics Heidelberg in the defeat. Four MLP Academics Heidelberg players scored in double figures. Ehingen/Urspringschule moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Walter Tigers. MLP Academics Heidelberg at the other side dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. Ehingen/Urspringschule's next round opponent will be higher ranked Schalke (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
