Very expected game when 7th ranked Itzehoe (2-3) was defeated at home by second ranked SC Rist Wedel (4-1) 80-75 on Saturday. SC Rist Wedel looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Lithuanian center Aurimas Adomaitis (205-87, college: LIU Brooklyn) stepped up and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Ryan Logan (201-94, college: Stonehill) chipped in 16 points. Four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. American guard Anthony McDonald (185-92, college: N.C.Central) responded with 27 points and center Stefan Schmidt (207-89) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. SC Rist Wedel maintains second place in North with 4-1 record behind leader Iserlohn. Loser Itzehoe keeps the seventh position with three games lost. SC Rist Wedel will face ETB Wohnbau (#11) in Essen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Itzehoe will play on the road against Muenster (#12) and hope to win that game.
