Regular Season Round 6: Duesseldorf - Ibbenbueren 89-83

Date: October 20, 2018
Very predictable result when top-ranked Duesseldorf (5-0) beat at home 8th ranked Ibbenbueren (2-3) 89-83 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Duesseldorf forced 21 Ibbenbueren turnovers. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds. American point guard Deshaun Cooper (173-91, college: NW Missouri St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 assists. Four Duesseldorf players scored in double figures. Duesseldorf's coach Jonas Joenke used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Omar Zemhoute (190-91) who recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and British forward Jamal Tahraoui (201-95, college: Oklahoma S&A) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Duesseldorf have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in West with 5-0 record. Ibbenbueren at the other side dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. Duesseldorf will face Recklinghausen (#5) on the road in the next round. Ibbenbueren will play against Deutzer (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
