A very close game took place in Sakiai between Vytis and Neptunas-Akv.. Third ranked Vytis (5-1) got a very close home victory over 9th ranked Neptunas-Akv. (2-3). Vytis managed to escape with a 3-point win 105-102 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Vytis made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Paulius Beliavicius (196-88) notched 23 points and 7 assists to lead the effort and international guard Sarunas Vingelis (196-89) supported him with 23 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Even 23 points and 6 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) by guard Erikas Kubilius (194-95) did not help to save the game for Neptunas-Akv.. Center Vytautas Sarakauskas (204-82) added 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vytis have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Suduva-Mantinga. Neptunas-Akv. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with three games lost. Vytis will meet Perlas (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Neptunas-Akv. will play against Gargzdu (#7) in Gargzdai and hope to secure a win.
