Very important is a road loss of Botas (1-1) against Hatay (2-0) on Sunday night. Visiting Botas was crushed by Hatay in Hatay 83-63. Hatay forced 19 Botas turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Hatay looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) who scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Belgian point guard Hind Ben-Abdelkader (172-95, college: California) chipped in 20 points. Four Hatay players scored in double figures. Hatay's coach Katerina Hatzidaki allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Jewell Loyd (178-93, college: Notre Dame) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and her fellow American import power forward Elizabeth Williams (190-93, college: Duke) added 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Hatay will meet Canik Belediye in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Botas will play against Mersin BSB and hope to win that game.
