The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Buyukcekmece (2-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Fenerbahce (3-0) 98-69. Fenerbahce shot 60.9 percent from the field. Fenerbahce outrebounded Buyukcekmece 38-27 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Buyukcekmece's players. It was a good game for Serbian forward Nikola Kalinic (202-91) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Italian Nicolo Melli (205-91) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. American center Devin Williams (206-94, college: W.Virginia) answered with 18 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Malcolm Armstead (185-89, college: Wichita St.) added 8 points and 4 assists in the effort for Buyukcekmece. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fenerbahce is looking forward to face Gaziantep (#5) on the road in the next round. Buyukcekmece will play against Turk Telekom and is hoping to win this game.
