Regular Season Round 2: Stevnsgade - Aabyhoj 55-83

An interesting game where Aabyhoj (#7) crushed host Stevnsgade (#8) with 28-point difference 83-55 on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Aabyhoj. Stevnsgade managed to win fourth quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Stevnsgade to just 4 points in first quarter. Aabyhoj dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Stevnsgade's 20. They outrebounded Stevnsgade 42-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. Guard Alberte Rimdal (174-2) scored 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Malene Pedersen (180-1) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Aabyhoj players scored in double figures. The former international guard Rikke Fabricius (184-92, college: Cent.Michigan) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and the former international forward Ena Viso (179-93, college: S.Dakota St.) scored 4 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aabyhoj will meet at home Horsholm in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Stevnsgade will play against Lemvig (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
