There was no surprise in Frankfurt where 11th ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (1-2) were defeated by eighth ranked BG Goettingen (3-1) 72-64 on Sunday. BG Goettingen shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. American point guard Michael Stockton (185-89, college: Westminster, UT) fired 12 points and 9 assists for the winners. Serbian forward Mihajlo Andric (201-94, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 16 points. BG Goettingen's coach Johannes Roijakkers used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Finnish Shawn Huff (198-84, college: Valparaiso) produced 14 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. BG Goettingen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Giessen 46ers and Telekom Bsk. Loser Deutsche Bank Skyliners keep the eleventh position with two games lost. BG Goettingen will face Crailsheim Merlins (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will play against EWE Baskets in Oldenburg and hope to win that game.
