Regular Season Round 4: Saarlouis - Bad Aibling 84-80

TV Saarlouis Royals has registered their first victory this season after one consecutive losses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Fireballs (2-3) 84-80. TV Saarlouis Royals well out of reach of Fireballs shooting 88.9 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for TV Saarlouis Royals especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 80.0 percentage. The winners were led by American point guard Ariel Hearn (171-94, college: Memphis) who scored that evening 25 points and 7 assists (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and point guard Seraphina Asuamah-Kofoh (160-99) supported her with 12 points. TV Saarlouis Royals' coach Ondrej Sykora allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 22 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) by American-Italian guard Lauren Engeln (180-92, college: Boston Coll.) did not help to save the game for Fireballs. American forward Destinee Young (185-95, college: ODU) added 18 points and 5 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. TV Saarlouis Royals (1-1) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. Fireballs at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Hannover and Keltern. TV Saarlouis Royals will play against bottom-ranked Braunschweig (#12) on the road in the next round. Fireballs will play against TSV 1880 Wasserburg (#3) and hope to get back on the winning track.
