Regular Season Round 3: Silutes SM - Mazeikiu SM 74-76

The most exciting game of round 3 in the U18 League took place in Silute. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of Silutes SM (1-2) to Mazeikiu SM (3-0) 76-74 on Tuesday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 19-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for center Lukas Valantinas (207-1) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Guard Kasparas Sion (185-2) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Dominykas Girskis (189-2) with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Tautvydas Rimkus (192-1) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mazeikiu SM will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Silutes SM will play on the road against Sostines (#11) in Vilniaus and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
