Regular Season Round 5: EBAA - Vaerlose 64-67

A very close game took place in Aarhus between Vaerlose and EBAA. Fourth ranked Vaerlose (1-5) got a very close victory on the road over second-ranked EBAA (1-5). Vaerlose managed to escape with a 3-point win 67-64 in the game for the second place. EBAA cut a 15-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. American forward Richard Granberry (203-93, college: Virginia St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and point guard Soren Formann (190-94) chipped in 7 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Mathias Thibault (190-96) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center Tobias Reinholt (208-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) scored 11 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Vaerlose left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with defeated EBAA. Vaerlose will meet at home league's leader BMS Skovlunde in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. EBAA will play against the league's second-placed Svendborg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
