Regular Season Round 7: Delikatesas - Ezerunas 101-75

Bottom-ranked Ezerunas (0-6) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to fourteenth ranked Delikatesas (2-4) 101-75 on Friday evening. Delikatesas dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ezerunas' 28 and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Ezerunas 41-20 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Delikatesas looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Ezerunas' players. It was a great evening for international power forward Sarunas Beniusis (206-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) helped adding 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Delikatesas players scored in double figures. At the losing side Jonas Zakas (192-97) responded with 19 points and Remigijus Sugintas (200-87) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Delikatesas moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Taurages. Ezerunas lost their sixth game in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. Delikatesas will face higher ranked Neptunas-Akv. (#8) in Klaipeda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
