Regular Season Round 4: Tofas - Galatasaray 97-82

Bottom-ranked Galatasaray (0-3) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their third consecutive match to sixth ranked Tofas (3-1) 97-82 on Saturday evening. Tofas shot 60.3 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Sammy Mejia (199-83, college: De Paul) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import guard Diante Garrett (193-88, college: Iowa St.) who added 17 points and 14 assists during the contest. At the losing side Greek-American center Zach Auguste (208-93, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 28 points and 7 rebounds and New Zealand guard Tai-Jack Webster (193-95, college: Nebraska) scored 14 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tofas moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Galatasaray still closes the standings with three games lost. Tofas will face Darussafaka (#12) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Galatasaray will play at home against Pinar Karsiyaka and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
