Very important is a road loss of third ranked Rhein Main Baskets (2-3) against top-ranked BasCats Heidelberg (2-0) on Saturday night. Visiting Rhein Main Baskets were crushed by BasCats Heidelberg in Heidelberg 83-58. BasCats Heidelberg outrebounded Rhein Main Baskets 46-23 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Pele Gianotti (180-95, college: Cal-Davis) who led her team to a victory with 19 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import guard Rachel Arthur (173-94, college: Houston Baptist) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Coach Dennis Czygan's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players saving starting five for next games. Bosnian power forward Anja Stupar (182-89) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Nelli Dietrich (169-89) added 11 points in the effort for Rhein Main Baskets. BasCats Heidelberg moved-up to third place in South. Rhein Main Baskets lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. BasCats Heidelberg's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Jahn Muenchen on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week.
