Rather expected game in Essen where 11th ranked ETB Wohnbau (1-5) was defeated by eighth ranked Itzehoe (3-3) 87-77 on Saturday. Itzehoe looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Johannes Konradt (199-95) who scored 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Lithuanian Justinas Zirlys (204-93) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Itzehoe players scored in double figures. Itzehoe's coach Patrick Elzie allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Andre Calvin (201-85, college: Drake) who recorded 27 points and 9 rebounds and guard Jeffrey Martin (190-94) added 19 points respectively. Itzehoe moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Oldenburg and BSW Sixers. ETB Wohnbau lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost.
