Regular Season Round 4: Metalac - Spartak 98-102

Everything could happen in Valjevo at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Spartak and 13th ranked Metalac had identical 1-2 record. But Metalac was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Subotica 102-98 on Saturday night. Spartak outrebounded Metalac 42-27 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Spartak especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Filip Barna (199-99) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists and center Ljubomir Campara (203-93) who added 24 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. Spartak's coach Slobodan Ljubotina used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Djukan Djukanovic (182-92, agency: SPORTlab Agency) responded with 20 points, 6 assists and 5 steals and Croatian power forward Josip Mikulic (215-93, college: Fairfield) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Spartak (2-2) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Dunav SB. Loser Metalac dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with 6 other teams. Spartak will meet at home league's second-placed OKK Beograd in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Metalac will play against Vrsac (#13) and hope to win that game.
