Regular Season Round 6: Schwenningen - Wuerzburg 68-66

A very interesting game took place in Schwenningen. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Wuerzburg (3-3) to third ranked BV Villingen-Schwenningen (5-1) 68-66 on Saturday evening. BV Villingen-Schwenningen dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Wuerzburg's 26 and made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. American forward Rasheed Moore (196-95, college: E.Stroudsburg) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Bill Borekambi (198-92, college: Sequoias CC) supported him with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Even 16 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) by American forward Dexter Sienko (198-96, college: Regis Univ.) did not help to save the game for Wuerzburg. Forward Julian Albus (191-92) added 12 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted BV Villingen-Schwenningen maintains third position in South with 5-1 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Iserlohn. Wuerzburg at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. BV Villingen-Schwenningen's next round opponent will be FC Bayern II (#5) in Muenchen. Wuerzburg will play at home against Dragons Rhoendorf and hope to win that game.
