The game in Pasvalys was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Rytas (6-1) played at the court of 5th ranked P.Zvaigzdes (3-5). Rytas defeated P.Zvaigzdes 89-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of P.Zvaigzdes. It looked good early as P.Zvaigzdes took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Rytas had a 27-18 second period charge getting the lead and P.Zvaigzdes was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-89. They outrebounded P.Zvaigzdes 32-21 including 22 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by American swingman Dominique Sutton (198-86, college: N.C.Central) who scored that evening 14 points and 7 rebounds and international power forward Evaldas Kairys (207-90) supported him with 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Rytas players scored in double figures. Even 18 points by Nigerian-American forward Emmanuel Omogbo (203-95, college: Colorado St.) did not help to save the game for P.Zvaigzdes. Guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) added 12 points for the hosts. P.Zvaigzdes' coach Gediminas Petrauskas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rytas have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-1 record behind leader Neptunas. P.Zvaigzdes at the other side dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. Rytas' next round opponent will be league's leader Neptunas in Klaipeda and it will be for sure the game of the week. P.Zvaigzdes will play on the road against Prienu Skycop (#6) in Prienai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
