A very interesting game took place in Recklinghausen. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 5th ranked Recklinghausen (3-3) to leader Duesseldorf (6-0) 80-79 on Saturday evening. Duesseldorf outrebounded Recklinghausen 41-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. American point guard Deshaun Cooper (173-91, college: NW Missouri St.) fired 11 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Lithuanian forward Dainius Zvinklys (203-90) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Chris Longoria (193-92, college: Valdosta St.) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and British center Theo Turner (213-93, college: Barry) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Duesseldorf and four Recklinghausen players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Duesseldorf. They maintain first place in West with 6-0 record. Recklinghausen at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Duesseldorf's next round opponent will be Dortmund (#10) at home and are hoping to win another game. Recklinghausen will play against Deutzer (#11) and hope to win that game.
