An interesting game was played in Samsun where Hatay (#4) crushed host Canik Belediye (#3) with 24-point difference 81-57 on Sunday evening. Hatay outrebounded Canik Belediye 40-28 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Merve Aydin (178-94) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Montenegrin-American forward Glory Johnson (191-90, college: Tennessee, agency: ProDep Management) helped adding 24 points and 8 rebounds. Coach Katerina Hatzidaki's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Italian-Australian guard Nicole Romeo (168-89, college: Washington) with 23 points and 4 assists and Lithuanian center Kristina Alminaite (205-90) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Hatay will meet at home Besiktas in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Canik Belediye will play against Mersin BSB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
