Regular Season Round 7: Bad Aibling - Schwabing 79-107

Rather expected game when 13th ranked Bad Aibling (1-5) was smashed at home by tenth ranked Schwabing (3-3) 107-79 on Sunday. Schwabing dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Bad Aibling's 30. Bad Aibling was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American power forward Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 5 steals. Point guard Joshua Obiesie (198-0) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Five Schwabing players scored in double figures. Serbian-Croatian forward Miodrag Mirceta (198) answered with 24 points and 4 steals and guard Simon Bradaric added 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Bad Aibling. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Schwabing moved-up to seventh place in South-East, which they share with Muenchen OSB. Newly promoted Bad Aibling keeps the thirteenth position with five games lost. Schwabing will have a break next round. Bad Aibling will play at home against Rosenheim (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
