Regular Season Round 6: Bernau - Oldenburg 90-61

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked SSV Lok Bernau (2-4) outscored at home higher ranked Oldenburg (3-3) 90-61 on Sunday. SSV Lok Bernau dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Oldenburg's 26. SSV Lok Bernau forced 21 Oldenburg turnovers and outrebounded them 41-21 including a 33-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for SSV Lok Bernau especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was point guard Jonas Mattisseck (194-0) who scored 28 points (on 10-of-5 shooting from the field). Point guard Bennet Hundt (178-98, college: High School) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Four SSV Lok Bernau players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Marcel Kessen (207-97) who recorded 13 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Haris Hujic (192-97) added 17 points respectively. Oldenburg's coach Artur Gacaev gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. SSV Lok Bernau moved-up to eighth place in North, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Oldenburg dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. SSV Lok Bernau will face higher ranked Itzehoe (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Oldenburg will play against Sixers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
