Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Fenerbahce (#7) and Galatasaray (#8). Fenerbahce (2-1) crushed visiting Galatasaray (1-2) by 17 points 77-60. They outrebounded Galatasaray 35-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Belarusian center Anastasiya Veremeenko (194-87) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Kelsey Plum (173-94, college: Washington) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple) who recorded 23 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import point guard Moriah Jefferson (170-94, college: Connecticut) added 11 points respectively. Galatasaray's coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Fenerbahce will face Kircicegi B. (#6) in Bodrum in the next round. Galatasaray will play at home against Cukurova (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
