Regular Season Round 4: Anadolu Efes - Sakarya BSB 86-96

The most surprising game was the first loss of Anadolu Efes (3-1) in Istanbul on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by twelfth ranked Sakarya BSB (2-2) 96-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Anadolu Efes. Sakarya BSB shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Toney Douglas (188-86, college: Florida St.) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) and 7 assists (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field) and Cameroonian center Landry Nnoko (208-94, college: Clemson) who added 22 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side Australian forward Brock Motum (208-90, college: Washington St.) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and German center Tibor Pleiss (217-89) scored 22 points. Four Anadolu Efes players scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes' coach Ergin Ataman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sakarya BSB moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Anadolu Efes at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Sakarya BSB is looking forward to face higher ranked Acibadem (#3) in Istanbul in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Anadolu Efes' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Fenerbahce.
