Regular Season Round 4: Zalgiris U18 - Siauliu 85-91

There was no surprise in Kaunas where bottom-ranked Zalgiris U18 (0-4) was defeated by top-ranked Siauliu (4-0) 91-85 on Tuesday. Zalgiris U18 trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 22-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 85-91 at the end of the game. Siauliu dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Zalgiris U18's 40. Siauliu forced 22 Zalgiris U18 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Paulius Danusevicius (200-1) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Nedas Svirikas (-1) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Forward Rokas Miskinis (196-1) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Vincentas Salcius (184-1) added 20 points, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Five Siauliu and four Zalgiris U18 players scored in double figures. Zalgiris U18's coach Andrius Vaicekauskas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Siauliu have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Vilniaus Silputa. Zalgiris U18 at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Siauliu will face Jonavos (#8) in Jonava in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zalgiris U18 will play on the road against the league's second-placed Vilniaus Silputa (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
