Very predictable result in Istanbul where leader Darussafaka (5-0) smashed 7th ranked Bahcehir (1-4) 99-75 on Wednesday. Darussafaka dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Bahcehir's 44. They outrebounded Bahcehir 45-27 including a 34-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Darussafaka looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Bahcehir's players. Forward Engin Kalkan (203-0) stepped up and scored 8 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and center Mahmut Celik (206-1) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Ishak Saruhanoglu (-1) responded with 26 points and 7 rebounds and forward Sarp Erden (201-0) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Bahcehir players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Darussafaka. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Banvit. Loser Bahcehir keeps the seventh place with four games lost. Darussafaka will face TED Ankara (#4) in the next round. Bahcehir will play against Pinar Karsiyaka and hope to win that game.
