Bottom-ranked Selcuklu (0-5) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to third ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (4-1) 89-47 on Wednesday evening. Pinar Karsiyaka forced 19 Selcuklu turnovers and outrebounded them 57-32 including a 24-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Pinar Karsiyaka shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Selcuklu was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Baris Unlu (-1) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and Emir Piskin (-0) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Yasin Yilmaz (-1) responded with 6 points and 6 assists and Ahmet Oge (-2) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Pinar Karsiyaka maintains third place with 4-1 record having just one point less than leader Banvit, which they share with TED Ankara. Selcuklu lost their fifth game in a row. They still close the standings with five games lost. Pinar Karsiyaka will face Bahcehir (#7) in the next round. Selcuklu will play against Istanbul BBSK and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
