Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Rendsburg (4-4) beat on the road 10th ranked Stade (4-4) 80-74 on Wednesday. Rendsburg dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Stade's 26. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian swingman Julian Pesava (193-95, college: Wayland Baptist) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Pierce Cumpstone (203-94, college: Stonehill) who added 15 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Rendsburg's coach Bjarne Homfeldt used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Janis Stielow (193-95) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Jamo Ruppert (188-94) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Stade players scored in double figures. Rendsburg moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Stade and Wusterhausen. Rendsburg will face Aschersleben (#9) at home in the next round. Stade will play against ETV (#12) and hope to win that game.
