Regular Season Round 9: Neptunas-Akv. - Taurages 86-73

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Neptunas-Akv. (5-3) beat 10th ranked Taurages (3-5) in Klaipeda 86-73. They outrebounded Taurages 42-31 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Neptunas-Akv. shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was center Vytautas Sarakauskas (204-82) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Klaidas Metrikis (202-0) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Neptunas-Akv. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) who recorded 19 points and 4 assists and center Deividas Keburys (201-90) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Neptunas-Akv.. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Zalgiris II. Taurages at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Neptunas-Akv.'s next round opponent will be Jonava (#8) on the road. Taurages will play against Zalgiris II and hope to win that game.
