Regular Season Round 5: Sloboda Uzice - Novi Pazar 77-78

The most exciting game of round 5 in the KLS took place in Uzice. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 8th ranked Sloboda Uzice (1-4) to third ranked Novi Pazar (4-1) 78-77 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sloboda Uzice won third quarter 24-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 26 personal fouls committed by Sloboda Uzice helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Bosnian power forward Sead Hadzifejzovic (202-89, agency: 011 Sports) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Marko Radonjic (190-93) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Swingman Stefan Simic (196-96, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and power forward Petar Maric (205-87) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Sloboda Uzice. Five Novi Pazar and four Sloboda Uzice players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Novi Pazar maintains third place with 4-1 record behind leader Borac. Sloboda Uzice lost third consecutive game. Sloboda Uzice at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the bottom position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Novi Pazar are looking forward to face Zlatibor (#10) in Cajetina in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sloboda Uzice will play on the road against Beovuk 72 (#11) in Beograd and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
