We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th ranked Hertener Loewen (4-2) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Hagen BG (5-2) 89-82 on Friday. Hagen BG forced 21 Hertener Loewen turnovers. Hertener Loewen was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish Jorge Tejera (200-92) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and American forward Salathiel Ligons (201-84) who added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Hagen BG players scored in double figures. Hagen BG's coach Kosta Filippou used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Hagen BG have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in West, which they share with Dorsten. Loser Hertener Loewen dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Hagen BG will face Ibbenbueren (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Hertener Loewen will play against Salzkotten (#10) and hope to win that game.
