Regular Season Round 8: Wusterhausen - Rendsburg 54-60

There was a small surprise in Wildau where seventh ranked Rendsburg (4-4) defeated 5th ranked WSG Koenigs (4-4) 60-54 on Saturday. They outrebounded WSG Koenigs 43-31 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Rendsburg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of Australian swingman Julian Pesava (193-95, college: Wayland Baptist) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Pierce Cumpstone (203-94, college: Stonehill) who added 8 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Guard Nico Adamczak (191-90) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds and forward Christoph Tetzner (201-81) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rendsburg moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Stade and Wusterhausen. WSG Koenigs lost third consecutive game. Rendsburg will face Aschersleben (#9) at home in the next round. WSG Koenigs will play against the league's second-placed Goetting.ASC (#2) in Goettingen and hope to win that game.
