Regular Season Round 8: Langen - Tuebingen II 83-86

Important game to mention about took place in Langen. Fifth ranked Tuebingen II (5-2) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked TV Langen (3-4) 86-83 on Saturday evening. Strangely TV Langen outrebounded Tuebingen II 41-29 including 27 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Rouven Hanig who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Niklas Schueler (183-97) supported him with 18 points and 5 assists. Tuebingen II's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 26 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Christopher Edward (201, college: Concordia, OR) did not help to save the game for TV Langen. Forward Ruben Spoden (202-89) added 27 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Tuebingen II moved-up to third place in South-West, which they share with Saarlouis/Dillingen. TV Langen at the other side keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Mainz and Fellbach. Tuebingen II will play against Stuttgart (#5) at home in the next round. TV Langen will play against HAKRO Merlins II in Crailsheim and hopes to get back on the winning track.
