Very expected game when 12th ranked Westerstede (3-6) was defeated at home by third ranked Goetting.ASC (7-1) 92-88 on Saturday. Goetting.ASC made 28-of-32 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while Westerstede only scored nine points from the stripe. They outrebounded Westerstede 41-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Nick Boakye (197-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Marco Grimaldi (188-83) who added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Goetting.ASC players scored in double figures. Goetting.ASC's coach Sebastian Foerster used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Croatian-Bosnian power forward Sandro Antunovic (207-98) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Piet Niehus (189-98) scored 21 points and 6 assists. Goetting.ASC have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Stahnsdorf. Loser Westerstede keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. Goetting.ASC will face WSG Koenigs (#7) in Wildau in the next round where they are favorite. Westerstede will play on the road against Bergedorf (#10) in Hamburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
