Rather predictable result when second ranked Gmunden Swans (5-1) defeated at home 6th ranked Dukes (2-3) 89-74 on Saturday. The game without a history. Gmunden Swans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Gmunden Swans outrebounded Dukes 35-22 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Chance Murray (190-95, college: Cal-Riverside) who scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Five Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Maximilian Hopfgartner (206-92, college: John Brown, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who recorded 15 points and forward Jurica Blazevic (199-94, agency: Interperformances) added 18 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively. Gmunden Swans maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Arkadia. Loser Dukes keep the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Kapfenberg. Gmunden Swans will meet Timberwolves (#4) in the next round. Dukes will play against Raiffeisen Flyers Wels and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
