Regular Season Round 9: Lietkabelis - Nevezis 87-66
Date: November 3, 2018
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Lietkabelis (5-3) crushed 9th ranked Nevezis (2-7) in Panevezys 87-66. They outrebounded Nevezis 38-19 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Lietkabelis especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was American-Finnish point guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany) who scored 16 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Croatian swingman Fran Pilepic (193-89) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Chauncey Collins (183-95, college: TCU, agency: Alti Sport) who recorded 26 points and swingman Martynas Varnas (196-97) added 10 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lietkabelis maintains fourth place with 5-3 record. Nevezis at the other side keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Lietkabelis' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Siauliai (#10) on the road which should be theoretically another easy game. Nevezis will play against the league's leader Neptunas and hope to win that game.
