Regular Season Round 10: Taurages - Zalgiris II 72-95

Very expected game when 12th ranked Taurages (3-6) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Zalgiris II (6-3) 95-72 on Saturday. Zalgiris II dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Taurages' 28. Forward Erikas Venskus (205-0) scored 24 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Vitalijus Kozys (201-99) chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Raidas Nacius (198-91) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and forward Paulius Morkeliunas (201-85, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Zalgiris II and four Taurages players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris II moved-up to second place, which they share with Neptunas-Akv. and Suduva-Mantinga. Loser Taurages dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Zalgiris II will face Suduva-Mantinga (#3) in Marijampole in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Taurages will play on the road against Delikatesas (#10) in Joniskis and hope to win that game.
