There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (3-3) beat on the road 10th ranked Science City Jena (2-3) 98-87 on Saturday. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Science City Jena was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Jordan Brangers (188-95, college: South Plains JC) scored 29 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Chris Warren (178-88, college: Mississippi) chipped in 14 points and 9 assists during the contest. Four Eisbaeren Bremerhaven players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nigerian guard Ike Iroegbu (188-95, college: Washington St.) with 26 points and American point guard Julius Jenkins (187-81, college: Georgia South) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Science City Jena's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Telekom Bsk and Vechta. Loser Science City Jena keeps the tenth position with three games lost. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will face bottom-ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (#18) in Weissenfels in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Science City Jena will play on the road against BG Goettingen (#6) and hope to win that game.
