Regular Season Round 4: Petkim - Ankara DSI 78-70

Socar Petkim's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Ankara D.S.I. (2-2) 78-70 on Saturday. Socar Petkim made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game, while Ankara D.S.I. only scored five points from the stripe. The winners were led by American power forward Markus Kennedy (206-91, college: SMU) who scored that evening 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Dogukan Sanli (191-95, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 17 points. Five Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds by center Cem Coskun (209-87) did not help to save the game for Ankara D.S.I.. Swingman Kaan Sariaslan (193-97) added 12 points for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Socar Petkim (1-3) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Ankara D.S.I. keeps the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Yeni Mamak and Akhisar Bld. Socar Petkim will meet league's second-placed Karesi Spor on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ankara D.S.I. will play against Akhisar Bld (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
