Regular Season Round 8: Niko-Basket - Kremen 81-62

Rather predictable result in Mykolaiv where fourth ranked Niko-Basket (4-1) smashed 7th ranked Kremen (1-6) 81-62 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-3 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Niko-Basket dominated on the defensive end, holding Kremen to just 3 points in fourth quarter and to 14 points in second half. Niko-Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Kremen's 26. Niko-Basket forced 19 Kremen turnovers and outrebounded them 48-30 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Vadim Zaplotinskiy (200-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and forward Sergiy Yurchenko (202-87) who added 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Niko-Basket players scored in double figures. Center Aleksandr Ryhljuk (208-84) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and naturalized Moldovan center Stanislav Zavadsky (212-87) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Niko-Basket moved-up to third place, which they share with Kharkivski Sokoly. Kremen lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. Niko-Basket will face again Kremen (#7) in Kremenchuk in the next round.
