Regular Season Round 8: Mariupol - Zolotoi Vek 97-84

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Zolotoi Vek (0-5) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Mariupol (4-3) 97-84 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mariupol. Zolotoi Vek was better in fourth quarter 29-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mariupol forced 19 Zolotoi Vek turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Mariupol looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Gleb Buzko (193-92) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and point guard Roman Bey (191-95) who added 19 points during the contest. Four Mariupol players scored in double figures. Mariupol's coach Sergei Zavalin used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Yuriy Kramar (191-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Olexandr Drobiazko (200-93) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Mariupol maintains fifth position with 4-3 record. Loser Zolotoi Vek still closes the standings with five games lost. Mariupol will face again Zolotoi Vek (#9) in Kirovograd in the next round.
