A very close game took place in Bayreuth between Heroes and Falcons. Second ranked Heroes (5-1) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Falcons (2-3). Heroes managed to escape with a 1-point win 67-66 on Saturday evening. Benjamin Hoehmann (197-1) nailed 14 points for the winning side and point guard Nico Wenzl (176-1) accounted for 10 points and 4 assists. Point guard Matthew Meredith (198-0) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Robert Merz (193-0) added 19 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for Falcons in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Heroes. They maintain second place in Group 3 with 5-1 record behind leader Ludwigsburg BBA. Falcons lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Heroes will meet NINERS (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Falcons will play against Science City Jena and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
