Very expected game when 14th ranked Kronberg (1-6) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Mainz (3-4) 69-57 on Saturday. Mainz forced 20 Kronberg turnovers. Kronberg was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American point guard Anish Sharda (188-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds and American point guard Kewan Beebe (183-93, college: Geneseo St.) who added 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Mainz's coach Christian Zander used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Justus Peuser responded with 16 points and Noah Litzbach (196-0) scored 11 points. Mainz moved-up to eighth place in South-West, which they share with Langen and Fellbach. Loser Kronberg dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Mainz will face league's leader Koblenz on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kronberg will play against Fellbach (#10) and hope to win that game.
