Regular Season Round 7: Baunach - Uni Baskets 89-85

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Baunach and 7th ranked Uni Baskets had identical 3-3 record. This time Baunach used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Paderborn 89-85 on Saturday night. It was a great evening for center Leon Kratzer (211-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Estonian Henri Drell (205-0) helped adding 17 points. At the losing side American guard Grant Benzinger (190-96, college: Wright St.) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Luca Kahl (187-97) scored 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Baunach (4-3) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Rostock. Loser Uni Baskets dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. They share it with Art.Dragons and Ehingen. Baunach will meet at home Kirchheim Knights (#8) in the next round. Uni Baskets will play against Artland Dragons and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
